Catholics believe that Jesus Christ personally conferred His authority on the Church and His Apostles continued to anoint successors who continue to serve Christ to this day, with the Pope being the personal representative of Christ (who is in Heaven) on Earth to guide us as a fellow mortal in our lives in this world so that we will be prepared for the next. The Catholic understanding of Christ's Word when he says "Truly I say to you, whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven" meant that the Pope received the authority to establish religious rules for all Christianity. We believe that our children must be raised in our religion, that we are God's chosen and not the jews, that it is an act of disrespect to our savior to flaunt that we are saved, and that we must actively participate in our religion to be saved.

Baptists believe that there has been a long line of Baptists since John the Baptist who have baptized and Jesus Christ was one of them. They further hold that, while Christ Himself said that one must be saved through baptism, Christ did not actually mean it and baptism is just a way to show off that you're saved. They believe this is a duty and you need to also raise your children with freedom of religion and you should flaunt how you're saved. They believe the jews are the Lord's chosen and not themselves and believe you don't need to go to church to be saved.
