why are people like this?
The truth is that if you can't beat someone in a fight, your chances of being able to draw and fire during that fight aren't as great as you might think. Sure, you have a better chance than without any gun, but it's wrong to see carrying a gun as some kind of magic solution that will let you win 100% of the time.
inb4 "i wont let him get close" yeah, you will. You're not going to just shoot anyone that comes within 20 feet of you. You're probably going to get your ass beat and have your gun stolen or worse. I recommend getting at least some training/experience with open handed fighting as a supplement to carrying.
