Once you've escaped the mall, you and Doc slide into the nearest alleyway to reconvene. It's difficult for him to hide so many Digimon. You lend him your backup slot, placing Kokuwamon in your Digivice like you should have the first time. Meanwhile, Phascomon takes a much-needed rest in the main slot. He's hurt and exhausted, and will need plenty of rest in the upcoming days. The other two Kokuwamon fit into Doc's Digivice, leaving Solarmon to float about. As the only one capable of flight, he's forced to follow along from the air.

"Where to now?"

"A good Code Cracker always makes backups. I'm off to my Safehouse, like I said."

A thought crosses your mind, and you suggest it immediately.

"I met another Code Cracker who was really interested in your work. She wanted me to ask some questions and see about setting up a meeting. Her group has a whole base of their own, I'm sure they'd take you in."

He shakes his head just as quickly.

"No. I don't like rooming with others, present company aside," he says, touching the Digivice on his hip. "And I have a feeling they're not free of heat. I'd bet my Digivice they're the ones who blew up the factory, aren't they?"

You nod in surprise.

"How'd you know? We haven't even gotten to talk yet."

"I can see it written on your face. You've been real busy the last couple days. Plus, an .app like this doesn't come from nowhere."

He slides the leftover orange files back to you, and you place them back within your inventory.

"How about we stick with you for today, Doc? Show us your backup lab so we can help set up."

"Works for me." You add. You're both worried about how he's going to cope.

Doc raises his arms over his head to stretch. He rubs at his wrists, nursing the phantom ache left behind by the manacles.

"You two have done enough. I owe you big time, Marnie, Phascomon. Come on by anytime when I'm set up. But you should be heading home now."
