>I understand that aspect when it comes to real life shit, but with fiction it's just additional baggage and no joy.
We'd just circle back around that different psychologies problem, and although maybe calling a sad story "joyful" is both wrong and a stretch, it can be compelling, if it's compelling in some way I can have "fun" with it and ergo it becomes worth watching.
>Why are you opposed to slop? Just because it's not original doesn't mean it's bad.
If I can accurately predict what happens next and every trope used I've already seen countless times, it becomes a total waste of time to indulge further and I'm not capable of watching anything just for the eye-candy alone so that's crossed out.
>And I wouldn't really care who the good and evil are in a scenario of Shogunate versus the Imperials, I just want the MC to survive.
Now I'm going back to thinking that maybe you were in fact trolling during all this time... you pick on Hiko Seijuro's view of "swords don't save lives", in a context where in fact it doesn't, and when having your memory refreshed as to why it doesn't you now claim it doesn't matter who is the evil here, which completely nullifies your initial complaint. And it's RK, he does survive otherwise the series wouldn't exist, and he did learn from his mistakes or did you forget the entire shtick of the story was that he's never killing anyone ever again and even his sword is reverse bladed?
