I could go along with that because it was really the Sisters giving De'ath a rebuke for trying to get out from under them and its pretty clear that the aforementioned random is an idiot ludicrously out of his depth and being puppeted by a headcrab. If anything it proves that Mortis was going above and beyond, because he not only cracked the secrets of Dead Fluids withouth the Sisters finding out AND weaponised them as both a slow-acting environmental poison and a really big bomb, AND also personally led the teams that launched the big projects AND didn't let being flensed by hard vacuum slow him down. He's even the only one of the Four that De'Ath calls a friend!
