It's a problem you see with a lot of mid-90s strategy games in particular. Like motion controls a decade later. You have all these new toys to play with as a developer thanks to the CD and early 3D rendering but did you ever ask: is it actually an idea to use this? Hindsight being 20:20, no it usually was not.
