It's just weird they went as far as estabilish Kaya's time travel worked, she can go back and forth and then have a KIM that Amir exposes they mixed up portals once accidentally throwing something into a time portal rather than a space portal
... and then nothing with it. You'd expect we'd get an alert like Scarlet Spear between the Present and 1999.
