I think it's a classic Gundam moment of them not knowing who's in the cockpit, though I'm sure Nyaan can put two and two together and figure out whose in the Quuuuux. No way Machu is going to go for the kill once they have a Kira-Kira moment together and she realizes it's Nyaan though.
