second tank ever, 20-gal long. Before I proceed any further with aquascaping…wtf do I put in it?

Thinking 9-15 kuhli loaches and a couple honey gourami but I don’t know, bamboo shrimp are kinda cool too. So are most saltwater things but I don’t know if Im brave nor experienced nor wealthy enough for a saltwater tank.
