Pridiyathorn Devakula of the Devakula family was the Governor of the Bank of Thailand from May 31, 2001 to October 6, 2006. The Devakula family has intermarried with the Chakri dynasty, the royal family of Thailand. Pridiyathorn Devakula is a grandson of Prince Devawongse Varopakarn, and a great-grandson of King Rama IV. He has also attended the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in 2015.
