“There, that is the house.” You said to Pai as she still clinged on your arm. “But first.”
There was a normal looking house beside the street and then there was a pair of tough looking men keeping watch across the street. They were the guards that you would need to get rid off first.
“Those two need to be dealt with.” You said.
“I guess killing them is out of the picture?” Pai asked.
“No killing.” You replied and sighed.
Approaching them, they noticed you and seemed rather nonchalant about you.
“Halt, not a step forward.” One of them said and spat on the ground. He seemed rather thuggish of a person.
You stopped just in case and kept your hands by your side where they could be seen.
“We are here to relieve you.” You said to them without a tone in your voice.
“You two?” The second man asked.
You took a small pouch full of coins and threw it to them. The first man caught it mid air and gave you a curious look.
“We will relieve you.” You lied to them and continued. “Me and my wife can handle the job, besides it is private enough here for us to…”
“Alright alright.” The man who caught the pouch said and waved his hand to his compatriot to follow him. A little bit of bribery gets you far.
Watching as the two men left their post, you waited till they had disappeared from your sight to take a step towards the house where the General should have been.
“Private enough?” Pai asked with a sultry tone and held your arm in place. “Ohh, finally liking the story I made up?”
“It works when it works.” You replied matter of factly. “Let’s go talk with the General.”
Walking across the street to where his house was, you approached the door and knocked on it several times. At first there was no reaction, but then you knocked for the second time and heard footsteps inside.
“I have told you, I take no visitors. Leave me alone!” A voice shouted from inside.
“Hath? We are here to see you.” You replied.
“Go away!”
You didn’t hear anything else from inside his home. Hath had probably just walked away and left you there.
“He doesn’t seem like he wants visitors.” Pai said to you. “I can get inside one way or another, I have some ideas.”
“Like what?” You asked her.
“I can lockpick the door or while you distract him, go around and climb through a window?” Pai shrugged.
Or you could just speak the truth and get his attention that way.
>Knock on the door again and tell Hath that you serve the Prince. Yes, that Prince. He should be curious enough to open the door for you.
>Have Pai lockpick the front door and force your way inside.
>Distract Hath and keep his attention while Pai goes around and finds a way inside his home to open the door for you.
>Other, write in
