I will spell this out because based on the behavior of my teammates this is some ancient Chinese secret shit: Play a little bit ahead of the objective. If you go far ahead of the objective, you are vulnerable to sneaky captures or just playing where the enemy is heavily advantaged. If you play on top of the objective, and then you lose a fight, you just have to give up the point. If you play a little ahead though, you can hold the enemy further away, and if you lose the fight, you can fall back to the point and retain control. Now you might say "Anon, that is literally silver level game strategy" and I would agree with you, but here I am in Diamond 1 watching my teammates just kill themselves by walking to enemy spawn on domination and seeing tanks just stand on the convoy after we got a team wipe.
