French President Macron officially announces:

"At the UN General Assembly meeting in September, France will recognize a Palestinian state."

Macron further added:

"There is an urgent need now to end the war in Gaza and save the civilian population.
We need an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and massive humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza. We must also ensure the disarmament of Hamas, secure Gaza, and rebuild it. We must build the State of Palestine, ensure its existence, and ensure that by accepting its disarmament and full recognition by Israel, it will contribute to security in the Middle East.
There is no alternative.
The French want peace in the Middle East. We, the French, together with the Israelis, Palestinians, and our European and international partners, must prove that this is possible.
In light of the commitments the President of the Palestinian Authority made to me, I wrote to him on the matter and expressed my determination to move forward."
