I notice that I like the old brickwork a little better, maybe because modern brickwork is just too straight, the bricks are all perfectly shaped with sharp edges and they are all perfectly aligned.
Old buildings have this imperfection in them, but still you can tell it was done skillfully, it's a weird balance that is lacking is modern brickwork but also in the slum brickings.
