Dornier... What a great designer too !
But once again, am sorry to tell you this, but even Claude dornier wasn't German... He was French, but was naturalized as German later...
See:
>The company was founded by aviation pioneer Claude Dornier (1884-1969) in 1922 .

Son of Dauphin-Désiré Dornier, a Frenchman born in 1845 in Isère and settled in Germany through his marriage to the Bavarian Mathilde Buck, Claudius Dornier was born in Kempten im Allgäu in Bavaria where he grew up and attended school. Passionate about technology, he continued his studies in Munich and graduated in 1907 from the Technical University of Munich . He became a naturalized German citizen in 1913.
