I originally clocked methy as being a pathological liar, hence his constant dissociative delusions. But I knew a pathological liar once and something wasnt adding up.

Methy contradicts himself too much. Pathological liars are actually harmless. Its like an addiction. They have wild imaginations and when they feel some trigger, start impromptu stories to get the person they are talking to to interact with the story, which makes it feel real to them. It just comforts them and acts as a defense mechanism for spikes in stress by distracting them with a more pleasant thoughts.

But methy isn't pathological. His stories are based in his wishful interpretations. For example, his story about going to a gay cafe, but only because someone took him. Or being a great fighter, yet sending doordash to bring his food because his slummy neighborhood scares him enough to carry a stick (literally), yet claiming its just because he likes to watch the GPS. Or really any claim to manhood at all from what I can tell, while talking as he tries to restrain his nasally fagcent.

It then occured to me that hes a compulsive liar, not a pathological one, and there is a meaningful distinction. A pathological liar is trying to fool you; a compulsive liar is trying to fool himself...
