Negotiations are such a buzzkill. Why would you negotiate anything when the US has demonstrated time and time again it will not abide by any agreements and will drop the pretense of abiding by agreements the moment it becomes inconvenient? The US government is staffed and run by people who regularly lie to their own citizens. What the fuck is even the point if negotiating with such people? What does an agreement with such a party even mean? Some words get said, a document gets signed, and then what? There is never any intention to abide by words or documents.
