Yeah, the darker colored skin is definitely the right way to go. Not only is the contrast better, but as you can see in pic related it gets really weird with the limbs being way more crystalline than other parts, while this was way less pronounced in the dark blue variant.
It's a shame since this gen would have been very nice as dark blue.
