I think its like its always happened for all of us 3 possible outcomes.
>>pop. dies out from war or disease but they recover and rebuild.
>>pop. dies out from war or disease but they never recover and others eventually rebuild and use that land as theirs.
>>god aliens or the earth completely eliminates everyone to the point that its a full restart.
