“Shoot.” she affirms.
“I kinda came face to face with some consequences of things I’d done previously within the last like, 30 hours or so. Some things with pretty big ramifications.” You cross your arms and lean against the side of a wall. “One of them being what the Supreme Kai of Time called ‘Shadow Dragons.’”
To your surprise, it’s not her that reacts immediately, but Pan. “Sh-Shadow Dragons?! You’re facing them already?!”
…So ‘already’ is a pretty worrying part to that. “Kiiiinda…? I…” You look to your counterpart and say, “You remember how I made a wish on the Black Star Dragon Balls to remove that negative energy, along with all sets of those Dragon Balls?”
“Yyyyes…?” She gets a tense look on her face. “…Boss and Trunks are talking about that aren’t they?”
“Most likely…” you confirm. “They showed up, revealing themselves to be involved in recent events, one even apparently trying to make Broly into a… ‘vessel.’” You look back at Pan, asking, “How do you know of them?”
“...They showed up after our Dragon Balls cracked, Grandpa and Giru and I went around fighting them. One of them even did the same thing to me.” she explains, holding her arm and looking away. “The last of them nearly beat us all, it took one last desperate gamble from Grandpa, and… it cost him everything. He left with Shenron after everything was all said and done.” Her… eyes start to water a bit. “I… want to think he’s still out there, watching over us somehow…” You and your counterpart both pull her in for a gentle, comforting hug.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know…” you tell her apologetically.
She wipes her eyes with her arm. “It’s okay. We… we’re all still around thanks to him.”
Your counterpart pats her on the head gently, then tells you, “I don’t think you should consider yourself at fault for it. You might have made the wish, but it’s not something you did intending to cause harm. You did all that to stop Basilea’s plan and save the universe, right? If anything, you at least helped stop this from happening all the sooner.” As the two of you let go of Pan, she adds, “You’re nowhere near the screw-up I was.”
