I believe I understand your meaning now. I agree that the mechanisms which make up one's being are many and intrinsically linked. LLMs do not have hormones, they cannot take chemical mind altering substances. I believe the system which gives rise to and regulates emotion is just as if not more essential to what makes a human.
However, I failed to make a distinction in my mind between an electrical system such as a computer or a nervous system and a chemical system. I agree that until we can better understand and replicate the latter, LLMs will remain stochastic parrots. A right brain without a left, as a light metaphor.
As to your last passage, though; I do find it a bit frivolous as we can pretty much always assume that what we know is a minuscule portion of all knowledge, which may be infinite. But we need to operate on some framework and so we need to agree to a shared "delusion" and work from there. Such is science, no?
