Bad parenting mainly. Growing up in an constantly stressed and anger environment. Not enough love from her parents who probably spent 90% of their free time watching TV instead of playing with her or going for walks. Insane loneliness, led by being bullied by kids with even worse parenting. Kid died on the inside already, seeking for any sort of love and attention. She can't feel any happiness and at some point even being sad feels empty. You need to harm yourself to "feel" something and maybe for a quiet call for help. People call her attention whore, I feel sad for a ruined childhood.
If you decide to get kids at least give them love, that's all. And giving love is not just a bedtime kiss on the forehead: it means being their for them at any time, when they need you and even when they don't need you.
