there is no fucking open world dark fantasy game with even a basic simulation of living, settlements everything is either dead or dying and you crawl through empty ruins and cursed dungeons with nothing human left. why the fuck is every dark fantasy setting some post apocalyptic cosmic jerkoff? why does it always have to be about the end of the world or some reincarnation bullshit like elden ring? yeah it is open world but it still feels like you are wandering through a corpse. i do not want another game about gods and cycles and abstract suffering, i want human suffering, i want to walk into a town ruled by bandits see people starving hear them screaming watch them get beaten in the streets and know i cannot fix it because the world is fucked and so am i.
witcher 3 gets kind of close but it is still a fairy tale for adults with a soft heart. i want rot and filth i want misery that comes from other people, not from some lovecraftian tentacle rape god give me shit covered peasants corrupt guards hopeless thieves mothers selling their kids for bread and no fucking hero to save them just you alone trying to survive in a world that does not care if you live or die
