Meat hand pies
Ingredients
1 tbl olive oil
1/4c miced onion or 1 tsp onion powder
2lbs ground beef
2 C thawed, frozen hash browns
2 tsp Kosher Salt
1 tsp black pepper
3- 16.3 oz pillsbury Grand biscuits
al purpose flour for the work surface
4 TBL (1/2 stick) butter, melted
Kosher salt, to sprinkle on top
2cups/8 ounces of grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350F, line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper
2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat, add beef and [onion/onion powder] and brown. stir often to break up the meat. Cook until no longer pink, pour and standing liquid. Stir in hasb browns, cheese, 2 tsp salt and the pepper, cool completely
3. Open can of biscuits and seperate the dough into individual biscuits (24 total), dust work surface with flour. Roll each biscuit into a roughly 5 and a half inch round
4. Place 1/4 cup meat filling in the middle, leaving roughly half and inch boarder all around. Bring the sides of the dough in three parts and pinch together. Resembles a triangle (Doesn't need to be perfect)
5. Arrange prepared pies on sheets, place close together so they all fit
6. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle a little kosher salt on top
7. Bake until golden, around 30 minutes. Rotate pan at 15 minutes
All the end of it all you should have something that looks like this, I hope you enjoy.
