There's this TRPG novel that does something similar where he does a special WHAT IF chapter at the end of each volume where it's "What if MC fucked up" or "What if MC took a different decision and the story took a different turn"
I should get into reading it again but it's one of these novels I stopped reading for a while and finding it hard to get into since the details of where I left it at are blurry and the author doesn't do recaps like other authors.
