At Jaffa Gate this morning, dozens of family members of the fighters who are finishing the course of the first company in the Hachshmonaim Brigade, the first Haredi brigade in the IDF, are gathering. Shortly, the company fighters, who are completing 7 months of basic training and advanced training, will arrive here - and will be the first to receive the brigade beret this morning in a ceremony at the Western Wall.
With this, the "Hachshmonaim" Brigade is graduating its first cycle of regular Haredi combatant training, making history.
Most of the family members arrived at Jaffa Gate to accompany their sons in the last hundreds of meters of the beret march - up to the Wall.

Some of the family members we spoke with shared their pride in their sons, their support, and the excitement of accompanying them. Families of some of the fighters chose not to attend.
