The lust part really doesn't matter.
it was only useful for the passive that made you inflict +1 burn potency
the most important part of the EGO was converting burn potency to defense level down

each defense level down makes the enemy take 3% more damage. but every 3 consecutive stacks go down in potency
(ex:3 defense down =9% dmg boost,6 defense down = 17~ dmg boost)
also enemy defense skills will have lower final power for every 3 levels you reduce
