How to make a CPU
-First, get a rock
-Then, smash the rock
-Now, you've got 98% concentrated silicone dioxide
-Now purified to 99.9% pure silicone dioxide
-Purify it to 99.9999999% Poly-silicon metal
-Put the PolySillyCon Ingots into a crucible
-Heat the Silicone Ingots to 1698 degrees Kelvin
-Take a small seed mono-crystal and dip it into the vat of molten silicone
-Slowly pull the crystal out as it cools
Now, you've got a mono-crystal of pure silicone! :)
-Next, cut the mono-crystalline silicone ingot into thin slices
Now you've got pristine, freshly cut, silicone wafers :)
-Dope it with some boron or phosphorous
-Put photo resist on the wafer
-Take your chromium etched photo-lithographic quartz mask, and shine a laser beam through it onto the wafer
-The shadows produced by the photo mask will control the location of highly localized chemical reactions on the surface of the silicone wafer
-Now develop the photo resist
-Acid etch the exposed parts of the wafer
-Wash away the leftover photo resist
-Now do some homo-epitaxy, hetero-epitaxy, sudo-epitaxy, diffusion doping, copper interconnects, chemical mechanical polishing.
Now you've got a finished silicone wafer! :)
-Cut your silicone wafer into pieces.
Now you've got unpackaged silicone dies! :)
-Locate the pads on the silicone chip and attach bond wires.
-Or use the flip-chip method
-The bond wires provide an electrical connection between the pins on the chip package, and the pads on the silicone die.
And that's how you make a C...
