>Return straight to Doc with his data, and confront him about the strange terminal in the workshop. You trust him enough to reveal what you saw, and to ask for an explanation.

It's Doc's former home, you should ask him first and foremost. You have a feeling it wasn't something you were supposed to see, but you trust him enough to bring it up.

"Nevermind. We'll get our answers in a bit."

"Make sure we're not followed. I don't want him to have to move again."

With that, you leave the crime scene behind and return to the shady block of vandalized 'slums', careful not to be spotted along the way. When you're absolutely certain you haven't been followed, you enter the building and head up to the top floor again.

"It's all here." Doc says with a nod, as he pores over the info you've given him. He locks it away in a secure folder, then holds out a packet of .app files for your trouble. You look over it and spy a couple of hook-like file icons. He's giving out single-use instances of that gravity hook he offered you the other time. This should come in handy.

"We, uh, saw something real strange while we were fighting."

"And what would that be my furry friend?"

"There was some kind of holographic person. I think she was a person, at least."

"Right there in your home."

He stops tinkering with a file and sets his full attention on you. Kokuwamon 4 sets a plate of snacks down and slides away, while he pulls out a notepad window.

"Spare no detail. What exactly did you see?"

You describe the ghost as well as you can, making sure to bring up her decaying avatar, her lack of speech, and most notably, the fact that she was wrenched into the void by some unseen force. You don't realise how rattled you are until you hear your own voice shaking.

"So, what was that?"

"I believe you've seen a subject of my research."

"A test subject? You made that?"

"No, no, no! Not that kind of subject."

Doc turns to Kokuwamon and sets a hand between his horseshoe-shaped head.

"The other day, you asked me how my Digimon gathered information while I stayed at home. I didn't want to give you a real answer, because I was worried you'd go chasing it and bite the bullet."

"Is it something dangerous? Related to the ghost girl?"

"That's right. She's what we call DMIA: Digital-Missing-in-action."
