I did not realize Australia has no such thing as coffee creamer, I'm not really a big fan of it or anything but it seems like something that should be normal. Weird.

You will spend a lot of time doing it. But also I'll maybe elaborate on the people telling you to use premades and say that you can simply start with pausing existing emotes or animations instead. Premade poses are often very poorly made, and working from how they're broken can sometimes be more confusing than it's worth. Even SE's can be kind of wonky sometimes when you remember they're optimized for gameplay and not for direct scrutiny, but they're at least more consistent than some of the slop you'll find on XMA.
Minus that, I think the hardest part when starting out is visualizing how the body actually moves when you do it mostly subconsciously otherwise. Try pantomiming some movement IRL and feeling what changes, it'll help when determining how close to your core you should start adjusting. Want to raise your arm above your head? That movement is starting all the way at the Thoracic bone bone (and then going Cervical > Clavicle Left > Arm Left > Forearm Left > etc).
