Momotaro, comes from another place/planet because she's no ordinary human and she is the MC of this story. Of course, just like Momotaro, she's adopted and her powers are of non human origin

Compassionate. Most of Jiji's pivotal moments are all about his soft heart and empathy, in good and bad, as his powerful alter ego is a curse he took because of his compassion, and I wonder if that will play a part once he gets rejected

I know it doesn't make sense to you but in Japan birds are often a simbolysm for beauty

I think it's pretty much confirmed, whatever the Momotaro theory actually implies. If not, it's still intended symbolism in the anime
