I just finished watching this. My first and lasting impression is that this was written by a stupid person. Not written for a stupid audience - written by a stupid person. It was absolutely insufferable all the way through, with every tension point forced into being by the dumbest person in the film team.
>high security clean room scientist eating chocolate bars and littering the wrapper in the fucking clean room
>a tiny plastic wrapper sucked into a clean room's vent disables the billion dollar high security prison doors, and also shuts down the whole facility's mainframe and opens all the doors (literally WHAT? This takes the cake for the dumbest written scene in the movie)
>series central theme of "Life finds a way" handwaved away as "after 35 years, dinosaurs finally realized the Earth isn't the same and recently started to die off again," completely ignores that no revived dinosaur is original and all of them were hybrid spliced with modern animal DNA to survive today
>social crisis: spend 3 minutes getting sample then rescue sail boat vs spend 2 hours rescuing sail boat and get sample. Very tense. Very angry.
>anti-dino security man is a retard, blindly firing, paying no attention to surroundings in a swarm, misses every shot and dies (to be fair, this is a series staple)
>teen girlfriend shoves CEO man and falls off boat, blames CEO who is literally on the ground from her push for not saving her, "He tried to kill me!"
>"They don't like shallow water, so our spec ops team has only one possible choice: to ram our boat into rocks and make everyone onboard jump into the spino waters before we do."
>dino cable fence with man-sized gaps to slip through. Get the cable cutters.
Just the first 30 minutes are enough to feel your mind rotting.
