The smart thing to do is to drop the Jewropean Jewnion and Middle east altogether, stay allies with Taiwan, S. Korea and Japan since they mostly pay for their own defenses.

But what needs to be done ASAP is the reinvesting in industry and the rebuilding of the rust belt, this would create plenty of jobs and make the U.S more self sufficient with production.

Another thing that needs to be done asap is the reintroduction of decency laws, basically, if you act like an asocial asswipe, you pay a fine, this can be easily done because it falls as public disturbance which is a real crime just not heavily enforced by the law.

Also start prioritizing the middle states, they're the bread basket of the U.S and they've been neglected to hell and back, just stuff like allowing them more land or giving them more welfare, the flooding in Appalachia was a great example of why this needs to be done, it'll boost the white birthrates too, the rural areas of the U.S are 80% protestant, white, and English speaking.

As for the 2nd amendment, it MUST be kept, as to prevent a foreign power from intruding, the civil population will form militias due to the amendment. Or prevent tyranny.
