I wouldn't matter if they did switch back to cane sugar because in an acidic solution like most sodas, sucrose will break down completely into it's glucose/fructose components (in a ~50:50 ratio) in under 3 weeks at room temperature. Meaning if you go to buy a glass bottle of Mexican Coke that has a bottling date of more than three weeks from the time of purchase then congratulations you've blown your money on a drink that is chemically identical to good ol' 'MURICAN HFCS-based Coke:

The chemist that got paid $$$$$$$$$ from Coca-Cola as a billion dollar corp years ago when they were reformulating it already probably knew this. Once again, we're in a case where populist sentiment and superficial cultural grievance get in the way of ruthless chemistry.
