i let my players use some, but most drugs are trade goods. the main one in my campaign is star dust (N-n-diphenylfuran-2-theryne), a methamphetamine analogue. the exact steps of fabrication elude me at this time but it begins with chromium trioxide turning into orichalcum trioxide (fake compound with fake element) turning into terlynium trioxide (another fake compound with a fake element) and then some further steps until we get into a more bioactive structure.

i haven't really mapped out the effects of the drug in any specific terms, though.
