Doesn't help that they are also scared of going the other direction by having more WMBF pairings. Sure, there's a few WMBM and WFBF pairs out there, but it feels like major black female characters just get forced with black men even if there's little actual chemistry there. Misty has been dating Sam Wilson for like a decade in the comics at this point and nobody notices or cares, because people still primarily associate her with Danny as her one true love.
