The Treaty of Utrecht FORCED Hispanics against their will to buy 140,000 (iirc) slaves every year, despite this, "slavery" in the Hispanic Empire was very different from slavery everywhere else in the world.

The DEMONIC anglos humiliated, tortured, raped, and killed their slaves; the ANGELIC Hispanics protected "slaves" with protection laws, which "slaves" could use to sue their masters. Furthermore, "slaves" in Hispanic territory had access to the best hospitals and universities, not to mention they could always go to a priest to ensure their master didn't separate the family (and the master was legally forced to complied). They also had access to private property, to the point that male "slaves" wore fine clothing and the women had more beautiful jewelry than Europeans (we know this from women's letters). What was more special, the children of "slaves" in Hispanic territories were ALL born free because we're all children of God.
