The whole "Dynamax/Gigantamax is just light" thing was something said during an interview when asked how it worked and the dev was put on the spot, it's clear that's just something he made up then and there. Nothing in either the games or show implies they are made of light, in fact it implies the opposite. In the show when Ash's Pikachu first Gignatamaxed he actually had trouble even standing up and staying balanced. Makes zero sense for that to be the case if it was basically just a hologram. (And even less sense for their attacks)

Polygon was never stated or implied to be a hologram. It's said to be living code and can convert it's body not data, but nothing about being a hologram and more than a Digimon would be a hologram.

Zoroark's "Illusion" ability has been shown to do so many absurd things that it's closer to bein a reality warper than just projecting illusions. It can TALK when disguised as a human yet it can't talk in it's normal form, that makes no sense unless it's either actually turning into a human, or it's ability works by not tricking your eyes but somehow tricking your brain itself making it think it's seeing and hearing (and possibly other senses) things that are not there. Regardless of the case, it does not appear to just simply be light-based.
