I always found Valheim to be a game like that (I just dislike the norse viking feel, too much of it around).

But there was loads of adventure. I also believe that some dose of procedural stuff is a welcome sight as it adds to the sense of finding unique stuff.

Having the internet is also taking away of the sense of exploration as u get bombarded by midwits on yt, x or here with “whats worth doing and whats not” which is a total subjective thing
