Why do retards still discuss "lore"? The Outer Gods, the ostensibly most important beings in the setting, literally do not exist in the launch version of the game. They were added as text only in a day one patch, and symbols that explicitly represented something else were retroactively said to represent them instead (e.g. pic related, or Malenia's Rot going from the "Rune of Decay" amplifying her natural sickness to being the work of a supposed Outer God of Rot that we never see). That's how little From actually cares. It's very likely that every boss in SOTE was a cut and repurposed boss from the base game that was recontextualized by two item descriptions, the same way the Ulcerated Tree Spirits and Red Wolves of Radagon are repurposed cut DS3 bosses (hence no one mentioning them), or how Loretta was originally a generic boss type called Arbor Sentinel, or how Mohg was originally a generic boss type called Great Daemon.
