The issue that Hitler tapped into (that he may have been right or wrong about, who actually knows) is that people like Hauer, Himmler, and Rosenberg were good at aesthetics but ultimately putting the cart before the horse when it came to getting rid of Christianity within 10 years of the National Socialists taking power. Getting a level of political stability was first on the agenda, which was never able to happen since they got plunged into World War II as soon as they got the ball rolling. Maybe “Struggle is the father of all things”, but it’s also true that taking an entire nation with you into it means a lot is going to go wrong in the process.
