People act like their side is A and the other side is B without having looked at the underlying data.
It doesn't help that their frame of reference is algorithmic slop that reinforces their beliefs.
The above is true for both sides, regardless of the truth of the matter. The process of wrong, even if the conclusion happens to be right.
