I wish it were that simple and stupid, the divinely comedic truth is more complicated and even stupider.
We men love the virgin and the whore, the princess and the call girl, the wife and the mistress.
We have two things inside us that pull us towards women, the love/protect/provide/wife drive and the ME MAKE FUCK UNGA BUNGA drive. The love drive usually comes online first in early childhood (puppy love) and the lust drive usually hits 10-13. When the lust drive comes online, it’s like having a wolf that lives in your dick that’s always starving, pretty much but not quite all the time, an ache or itch or a need like water. The love drive manifests as a light/vague yearning that flares up to a siren song when we bond with a specific girl, for younger/less experienced guys it usually doesn’t take much (love at first sight), but that’s the one that creates the simp behavior and “live your whole life together” intrusive daydreams. If the lust drive is like a starving wolf in your dick, the love drive is like fishhooks in your heart that she holds the strings to, distance hurts, and you just want to be close and obsess over your beloved.
Anyway, men try to be rational creatures, these drives are our biggest and most intense irrationality, so we naturally cope in different ways. This cope can manifest as a denial of one for the sake of the other, the whoremonger who says he doesn’t care about purity and love (he does), and the waifu guy who says he doesn’t care about the carnal side (he does). Usually though, this contradiction manifests as an irrational synthesis, and a mythical “both” is formed as a fantasy. While it’s true that the old “fall in love with a stripper” cliche exists (I want to save her/I see the purity underneath the situation), the FAR more common cope is the virgin QT waifu that magically metamorphizes into your personal bedroom goddess the moment you take her into the honeymoon suite.
