First, if you don't like this endgame, I get it. Dire Mode is clearly aimed at Whales, but that's the whole point.
Clearly, I love the game. I've played since the very beginning, put in thousands of hours, and dumped an ungodly amount of money into it. That said, being a Whale in Genshin is like driving a Ferrari, but every road has speed bumps and there's a fixed limit of 35mph. No matter what you can do, you never get the opportunity to actually do it.
This is my first time actually fighting these bosses. Sure, I've killed them before, but I've never taken even a moment to learn their weaknesses or even tried to understand how to beat them. There's really no need when everything dies as soon as it spawns.
Now, not only do the enemies have more HP, they have harder gameplay mechanics that require precise strategies, even at high investment. Figuring out workable Team Comps and adjusting to the "Zero Energy" requirements for the first rotation actually took some thought and planning.
What makes it great is that nothing was dialed down. I didn't have to play shitty "Trial Characters" that gimped my Team. I got to use my own units and push them to their actual limits.
It was glorious.
I'm glad the best rewards are available to everyone and that the final "rewards" are garish and unappealing trash. That should ease some of the fomo. It would be nice if there were something a little more meaningful than temporary (and ugly AF) weapon skins, but the real reward was the experience.
