It sucked on release you're very right, but a couple years in it got polished into being the coolest, most original combat system of any MMO out there. High speed turn based combat where the sky is the limit when it comes to skill expression through actions per minute. Due to it being inherently turn based on a 0.6 second timer, it also makes it accessible to boomers so I can play it on a god tier level well into my 50s.
