For 3 colonists that's perfectly livable. They won't be full of joy, but those early days I just stuff everyone in a box anyways.
If we assume this is on the higher end of ships, that's tons of room for shit
I expect the average ship crew for Odyssey to be roughly 8-12 colonists and a requirement to be reasonably picky with who you recruit
