It's kind of a pricey recommend, and I know tons of people get by just fine without screen tablets, but I just couldn't. All my drawing came from me sketching and looking at what I was sketching. I got a Kamvas Pro 13 (couple hundred bucks at the time, not sure if you can still find the same model for similar price) a couple years ago and it's been life-changing. It's slow to adapt to drawing digitally, and part of that is "adapting" and also "still learning new stuff" so it feels rough at times, but having a tablet with a screen is what made me feel like I could maybe make something of myself, one day.
