You stepped foot into what was a staple of any isekai world, stopping yourself from smiling at seeing all the men and women in student uniform.

Teachers were more distinguished than their students, some either wearing more decorated versions of student uniforms or mage robes.

Though you still find a few people that wore the stereotypical witch's hat or some adventuring gear. Though the majority of students and faculty consisted of humans, beastfolk, harpies, elves, dwarves, gnomes, and other species were common enough to see at least every five minutes. You think you saw some fairies too, though that might've been a trick of the light.

Armed with the excuse of finding Ayane's, and possibly Mel's, connections in this academy, you go to explore the place.

In contrast to the rather crowded entrance, the courtyards inside the school were spacious and hardly used.

On occasion a group of guys would attempt to harass one of your wives. Thankfully you all kept close, and a look from Cattleya was usually enough to get them running.

Not only that, but there were some guards stationed in areas that required official permission or proof that you were either a student or a teacher. Not wanting to make enemies with the entire Academy (at least not yet), you decided to go to areas which were more accessible.

There was a library which was open to the public, directly connected to the Academy itself. There was no lack of books in this area, with practically every academic subject being touched in some area. You couldn't help but notice the almost chaotic placement of the books— giving the suspicion that there wasn't any particular order to things here.

"Guess the Dewey Decimal system hasn't been discovered yet..." You said under your breath as you placed a book about chemistry back into the 'general alchemy' section.

"The what?" Mel was right next to you. She had a text about the fae on one hand, not unlike the fairytale book she already owned.

"Don't worry about it." You said nonchalantly. You were used to her suddenly appearing close to you ever since that incident where she was following you, Herta, and Yumi in the forest.

And Mel, once gain, made a strange face with your remark.

"You're giving me that funny look again." You said, finally feeling like you should bring up what by this point felt like a consistent occurrence.

"Huh?" Mel slowly blinked a couple of times, "Oh, that. Um, Master, it's just-"

But whatever she was about to say was interrupted by what sounded like a cascade of books falling on the floor. You look over to where the sound came from and find Herta with book on her hand, piles of books on the floor surrounding her. She slowly places the book back into the shelf.

Unfortunately, the noise seemed to attract some guards before you were able to deal with things.
