I think I’m about ready to “retire” and drop out actually… I have 300k in a HYSA, 500k in an inherited IRA (which I’ll have to pay taxes on); I’m 31 years old now and working in biotech for barely 100k USD a year. It’s incredibly discouraging to watch all of your dumber friends who had an economics major gpa of 2.1 in college now making 250k+ a year as an insurance salesman. I’m fucking done. I definitely don’t plan to live to 45, never even expected to make it to 30 in the first place, but here I am.

It’s just a bit frightening because I know that when I do quit, there’s no way I’ll ever want to work or rejoin society again. It will be my final path unto death.
