Fallout 3’s original ending was perfect and people who whine about it are either Nu-Vegas Trannies who want everything to be ironic and self-referential and/or HBomberguy-watching commies who can’t handle sincere storytelling

The Lone Wanderer literally sacrificing himself to cleanse the wasteland with pure water is Christ-like. It’s the ultimate fulfillment of the game’s themes. You’re born in the darkness of the Vault (the tomb), you journey into the sinful, ruined world, and in the end you give your life so others may live. It’s the clearest biblical parallel Bethesda has ever written.

Your whole journey is about choice and responsibility.
You can be good, evil, selfish, whatever but in the end, if you’re truly selfless, you walk into that irradiated chamber and you die.
That’s redemption. That’s meaningful sacrifice. That’s narrative weight.

But no, the same crowd of “Actually New Vegas is the only good Fallout” drones can’t stand sincerity. They’d rather have 400 layers of meta-jokes about politics and some trans-coded Mr. House fanfic while they masturbate over “gray morality” and LE WACKEY SCIENCE shit.

Fallout 3 dared to be earnest. It dared to be about faith, sacrifice and hope in a world with none. It wasn’t afraid to be unapologetically moral in the middle of a dark setting. It’s literally the most Christian Fallout game and that’s exactly why all the soulless Twitter faggots hate it.

Also the original ending >>>> Broken Steel retcon.
Let the Lone Wanderer die a hero. Not every protagonist needs to get a Marvel post-credit sequel.
Stay mad New Vegas Trannies
